Community rules

On Foxaru, people write about recipes they have cooked. A few rules keep that worth reading. They are short, because nobody reads long ones.

Welcome here

• How the recipe turned out for you – including when it went wrong.
• What you changed and why. That is exactly what others read.
• Photos of what ended up on your plate.
• Criticism of the recipe. Fair criticism is not a violation, it is the reason comments exist.

Not allowed

• Insults, demeaning remarks and personal attacks – against other readers, against the editors, against anyone.
• Hatred and incitement against people or groups, on whatever grounds.
• Sexual content and anything that endangers minors.
• Depictions of violence, threats and calls for violence.
• Other people's personal data – names, addresses, phone numbers, photos of others.
• Advertising, links to your own offers, the same text under many recipes.
• Pretending to be someone else, including the Foxaru editorial team.
• Anything that breaks the law.

How moderation works

Every post with text is reviewed by hand before it is published. Until then only you can see it. Star ratings without text appear immediately – there is nothing to read.

Every post has a “Report” link. You do not need an account for it. We look at every report. If several reports come in for the same post, it disappears from the page right away and waits for review – at night as well.

“Block” hides one person's posts from you. It applies to you only, and the other side is never told. You can undo it any time under “My account” → “Profile”.

What happens when someone breaks the rules

The post is removed. For a breach of the zero-tolerance rule we also suspend the account and delete all of its posts. Repeated breaches of the other rules lead to a suspension as well.
